Anglican Clergy Membership Offer

is good news for Anglican Clergy - or some of them - but confirms the misgivings of people who have absolutely no reason to trust the Anglican Clergy to defend free speech. The category certainly includes me.

The Winter Festival email from the Free Speech Union - I think there's a possibility that the email was an act of desperation: perhaps the Free Speech Union was in difficulties and decided that appealing to believers in the literal truth of the Bible was a guaranteed way to boost membership. I used to be a member, but cancelled my membership when my misgivings about the direction of the organization outweighed the good will I felt for quite a time.
